Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to ensure the proper operation of food serving establishments for the benefit of the industry, consumers and society in general. It shall contribute to providing food serving businesses with a stable and predictable framework and to prevent unfair competition. The Act contains the following Chapters: 1. Purpose and scope; 2. Authorization to operate a food serving establishment ; 3. Requirements to run a food serving establishment; 4. Temporary close down of food serving establishments, suspension, and revoking the license and penalties; 5. Transfer of a food serving establishments, bankruptcy, death, and discontinued operation; 6. Various provisions.
The Act applies to the founding and operation of all establishments where food and/or drinks are served and where the conditions allows for consumption on site. Section 3 requires an authorization from the Municipality to run such businesses, given that the requirements set in the Act are met. Procedural aspects for applying for such authorizations are described.
