Abstract
This Decree of the Department of Fisheries consists of 17 sections, divided into 6 Chapters: General provisions (I); Provisions relative to the treatment of skins from icy seas (II); Classification in first grade and subgrades (III); Classification according to kind, fur, and tanning (IV); Instructions for grading (V); Penal provisions, exemptions, and entry into force (VI).
The State Grading Institute shall be headed by the Director of Fisheries. This Decree applies to all first-hand sale of seal skins landed in Norway. All landing shall be reported to specified public offices. The shipowner, buyer or representative of the crew may request public grading. Chapter II contains rules for the treatment of skins.
