Abstract
This Regulation concerns the allocation of new permits for aquaculture intended for human consumption of salmon, trout and rainbow trout in marine waters. The purpose of the Regulation is to keep this industry at profitable and competitive and environmentally-sustainable level and at the same time to add value to the coastal zone. There will be an auction of new rights, but before the auction, there will be a procedure carried out by the Department of Food and Fisheries to decide on the increase of capacity increased in tonnes of fish. The Regulation sets out the procedure for the allocation of rights and the clearance of aquaculture sites. Bidders must be registered to participate in the auction. Only natural persons or companies domiciled in the EEA or Switzerland can register for the auction.
