Abstract
The objective of this Regulation is to preserve Færder National Park as a large natural area with representative coastal ecosystems in the outer Oslofjord, with special emphasis on landscapes, habitats, species and geological formations on land and at sea, without major infrastructure development. Among the national park’s responsibilities include: ensuring ecosystems of the variation in biodiversity, including species, populations, habitats, geology and ecological processes; the original archipelago landscape and the marine environment, including cultural heritage on land and at sea; the underwater landscape with varied bottom topography and with great variation in marine habitats including Eelgrass meadows, large kelp forest, soft-bottom areas in the coastal zone and shell areas; ensure the important habitats such as coastal pine forests, rich swamp forest and deciduous forest, meadows in the eastern part of Sandø and Central Bolæren; a small coastal woodland in Western Bolæren, with a wide variation in species composition; and to ensure habitat for several endangered species including marine giant sedges and oysters. The area is protected against infringement of any kind, such as any road and building construction or demolition, leaving it unaccessible to external disruption.
