Abstract
The purpose of this document is to ensure that wild populations of Atlantic salmon are maintained and restored to a size and composition which ensures diversity within species, and salmon production and harvesting opportunities. These parameters are a guideline to clarify what constitutes good quality wild salmon and thereby giving authorities a basis for the management of stocks affecting the populations of Atlantic salmon. The Ministry of Environment shall regulate the provisions of this document in the classification, quality standard and inspection. The latter shall be carried out by scientific specialists appointed by the Ministry, which shall publish updated lists of the results of quality for individual stocks.
