Abstract
This Regulation establishes a national park encompassing coastal and marine areas on the north side of Isfjorden, covering approximately 2,050 km² of land and 904 km² of marine territory. The regulation aims to preserve an expansive and largely untouched Arctic fjord and coastal landscape, protecting rich vegetation, wetlands, bird habitats, geological formations, cultural heritage, and landmarks like Alkhornet and Skansen. It prohibits activities that may harm the environment, such as construction, pollution, and drone use, and strictly regulates access, camping, motorized transport, and overflight. Certain exemptions may be granted for emergencies, management, or scientific purposes. The Governor of Svalbard oversees enforcement, and violations are subject to fines or imprisonment.
