Abstract
This Regulation establishes a national park to preserve an extensive and largely untouched Arctic fjord and valley landscape, covering about 1,157 km² of land and 73 km² of marine area. It protects diverse ecosystems, vulnerable plant species, rich birdlife, wetlands, significant geological formations, cultural heritage, and notable features such as the Templet mountain. The regulation prohibits construction, pollution, drone use, and activities that may damage the environment or disturb wildlife and heritage sites. It restricts access, motorized transport, and air traffic, while allowing limited exemptions for emergency services, maintenance, and scientific research. The Governor of Svalbard oversees enforcement, and violations may result in legal penalties.
