Abstract
The present Regulation establishes the framework for financial support from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) to municipalities and Longyearbyen local administration for measures aimed at reducing risks associated with floods and landslides. The Regulation specifies the types of eligible projects (such as physical protective works, monitoring systems, and risk mapping), conditions for co-financing, application procedures, prioritization criteria, and reporting obligations. The overarching goal is to enhance public safety and protect property while strengthening knowledge on natural hazards. The regulation applies to Norway, including Svalbard but excluding Jan Mayen and other overseas territories.
Entry into force notes
