Abstract
The Regulation sets rules on subsidy granted to help in the priority of protecting endangered species, in adherence to articles 23-24 of the Nature Diversity Act. Landowners, private individuals, NGOs, municipalities, businesses and institutions may receive such subsidies to invest in a) management and maintenance; b) measures to improve the habitat; c) specific measures for individual species, such as the relocation, reintroduction and collection of seeds; d) land included in the operations of agricultural enterprises; e) fencing; f) mapping and monitoring. The Regulation also applies to the grant of subsidy to owners of power grids for the prevention of owl death on electricity poles. In addition, subsidy shall be granted for necessary equipment and information on these species. Applications for grants must be submitted electronically to the Norwegian Environment Agency.
