Abstract
The purpose of this Regulation is to set rules on the preservation of Sula natural reserve, Nord-Fron municipality, of a large creek ravine. It is the Regulation's objective to maintain this area for its biodiversity, habitat, ecosystem, plant and animal species’ protection and environmental ecological processes. The nature reserve is one of the most valuable floristic areas in Gudbrandsdalen with the richest fairy grass in Norway, in addition to several other rare and vulnerable plant species related to "fairy element" in the Norwegian flora. Along the river, a rich and rare lichen flora both on rock and trees is present together with a great variety of forest types with spruce. The nature reserve has particular importance for biodiversity conservation values in the most untouched conditions possibly to be developed. The natural reserve runs through location / BNR .: 283/1, 283/22, 284/1, 285/3, 286/1, 287/3 in Nord-Fron municipality. It covers a total area of approx. 700 acres.
