Abstract
The present Regulation establishes a subsidy scheme to contribute to the implementation of measures to reduce marine pollution in Norway, including clean-up and preventive measures. The main objective of the scheme is to clean-up the shoreline. Subsidies may also be granted for similar measures along or near rivers, lakes, and other bodies of water. The sea/ocean floor up to the shore or to a depth of 5 meters is also considered part of the shoreline. Grants from the scheme may be awarded to voluntary and non-profit organizations and foundations registered in the Register of Business Enterprises (Enhetsregisteret). Grants may also be awarded to private companies, as well as independent municipal and intermunicipal companies and cooperation bodies, such as waste management companies and outdoor recreation councils. Section 4 contains the allocation criteria.
