Abstract
It is prohibited for Norwegian and foreign vessels to hunt Chionoecetes Opilio (snow crab) in Norway's territorial waters, including the territorial waters around Svalbard, economic zone and fisheries protection zone around Svalbard. For Norwegian vessels, the prohibition applies also in international waters. Nevertheless, this Regulation grants exemption from the ban on catches of snow crab for vessels which have an acquisition permit in adherence to Participation Act (acquisition permit is restricted to the capture of certain species).
