Abstract
The purpose of the present Regulation, adopted by the Ministry of Climate and Environment, is to promote engagement with climate and environmental issues, and to stimulate environmental activity locally, regionally, and nationally. The subsidy scheme established by the Regulation shall provide financial support to nonprofit organizations and foundations that contribute to promoting this goal. Subsidies can be given to organizations a) with democratically elected governing bodies and a main environmental scope; b) with a broad membership base and geographical distribution of members; c) that are registered in the Register of Non-Profit Organisations; and d) that have a register of at least 5000 counting members (3000 for children and youth organizations) and meet the requirements of Article 10. Furthermore, subsidies can be given to foundations a) with a main environmental purpose and scope; b) that is a non-profit; c) where any surplus is reinvested in the organization's purpose; d) that are registered in the Register of Non-Profit Organisations; and e) that submits annual reports in accordance with the provisions of the Accounting Act.
