Abstract
This Regulation prohibits in principle fishing for and landing of coalfish in 2019 south of 62° N by Norwegian vessels. It specifies, however, a total catch quota of 47.999 tons to be used by Norwegian vessels in the inner waters, territory and EEZ of Norway and the EU zone in ICES areas IV and IIIa. Norwegian vessels can fish up to 940 tonnes of coalfish in the EU zone in ICES statistical area 6.a north of 56° 30′N. Group quotas and maximum single vessel quotas are specified for trawl, seine and conventional gear fishing. Trawl includes cod trawl, pelagic trawl and coalfish trawl. Remaining provisions concern a stop on fishing to be decreed by the Director of Fisheries, bycatch, calculation and use of quotas, and offences.
