Abstract
This Regulation lays down rules restricting access to the types of fisheries listed in Article 1 (a total of 17). The Regulation contains 58 Articles organized in the following chapters: 1. Introductory provisions; 2. Participation-restricted fisheries in 2023; 3. Replacement and sale of vessels, etc. in closed-group fisheries; 4. Final provisions. Fish species that are covered by the Regulation include cod, haddock, saithe, mackerel, herring, shrimps, spring-spawning herring, lumpfish, Greenland halibut, sprat, ling, tusk, king crab, wrasse, and capelin. To participate in closed-group fisheries in 2023, the vessel must have had access to participate in the fishery of the same vessel group and with the same gear in 2022. Chapter 2 contains sub-headings for each type of the fisheries covered by the Regulation, laying down requirements to participate in closed-group and opened-group fisheries, as well as rules concerning fishing gear and methods.
