Regulation No. 2447 on fishing for Arctic char in Svalbard in 2023.

The present Regulation aims at ensuring that management of Arctic char in Svalbard preserves the production capacity and composition of the populations, while also ensuring recreational fishing as an important outdoor activity for residents and visitors to Svalbard. The management of other anadromous salmonid species is not included in the Regulation. The Regulation lays down rules concerning fishermen requirements, fishing gear requirements, net fishing prohibited areas, reporting obligations, etc. Article 10 specifies the watercourses where fishing is allowed, restricted fishing gears and maximum quotas for fish over 25 cm.
