Abstract
This Regulation implements the provisions of Act No. 48 of 1987 (Norwegian International Ships Register Act). It states that the Maritime Navigation Act shall also apply to registration of ships into the international register, insofar as its provisions are not in contrast with the present Regulation. This Regulation also contains provisions regarding Registration Authorities (a department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the main office in Bergen), the information required (mainly regarding property and property rights) to be registered, procedures for registration, refusal of registration and the appeal procedures against decisions of the administration, charges and fees, and other matters. Registration criteria which are established in paragraph 1 of Act No. 48 of 1987 do also apply to drilling platforms and other floating installations. Reference is made to the European Economic Council Directive 613/91/EC in force in Norway. (33 sections divided into 5 Chapters)
