Abstract
This Regulation establishes a state-funded compensation scheme for Norwegian fishers who lose fishing time due to the discovery, retrieval, and landing of marine debris not originating from petroleum activities. Compensation is available when such debris poses a safety risk, obstructs fishing, or causes significant damage to fishing gear. Applications are reviewed by a dedicated committee, with the possibility of appeal to a higher board. The compensation amount considers actual losses and deducts any other related payments.
