Regulation No. 780 on temporary grants for the fishing industry in the Oslofjord.

This Regulation establishes a temporary grant scheme for the fishing industry in the Oslofjord, aimed at supporting owners of small shrimp trawling vessels whose access to fishing grounds has been substantially restricted by the introduction of no-fishing areas in the Oslofjord, and at reducing financial barriers to winding down their activity. Grants may be awarded to owners of registered Norwegian fishing vessels under 11 metres that fish shrimp with trawls, where the owner is listed in the fishermen’s register, was born in 1958 or later, the vessel had average turnover above NOK 500,000 in 2023–2025, and more than 40% of its trawling activity took place in the Oslofjord no-fishing areas. Applications are handled by the Guarantee Fund for Fishermen, the grant is a one-off payment distributed equally among qualifying vessels up to NOK 3.5 million, and accepting the grant means the relevant vessel owners may no longer participate in shrimp and crayfish trawling in the Oslofjord under the related fishing regulation.
