Abstract
This Regulation, issued by the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries, sets rules for Norwegian vessels fishing cod in NAFO Subarea 3M in international waters in 2026. Although a general ban applies, up to four conventional deep-sea vessels may be granted permission to fish within a total quota of 1,420.8 tonnes, with each vessel allowed up to 355.2 tonnes between 1 April and 31 December 2026. Participation requires written application and authorization, and vessels must carry an approved observer on board at their own expense. The fishery will be closed once the total quota is reached, and all activity must comply with NAFO regulations. Violations are punishable under the Marine Resources Act and the Participation Act.
