Abstract
This Regulation provides rules for the prescription of medicines for use by human beings and animals. It seeks ensure the proper prescription of medicines, the proper dispatch of prescriptions and requisitions in pharmacies and the proper delivery of medicines from pharmacies. Premixes for medical feeds shall only be handed over to an approved manufacturer in accordance with Directive 90/167/EEC on medicinal feeds and regulations No. 693 of 1996 on prescription, manufacture and distribution, etc. of animal feed for animals, birds, fish and other aquatic organisms. Fish health biologists with a Norwegian authorization or license have, subject to certain restrictions, the right to prescribe medicines for aquatic animals except marine mammals. Prescription of all medicines for farmed fish, etc. (groundfish, roe, fry, juvenile fish, shellfish, shellfish and shellfish, etc.) must be written on a separate form determined by the Directorate of Health. When a drug is prescribed for animals that entails a retention period for the delivery of eggs, milk, honey or slaughter, the deadline must be stated on the prescription.
