Temporary Regulation No. 130 on automatic scales and automatic weighing systems at the reception of pelagic fish.

This Regulation establishes mandatory requirements for automatic scales and weighing systems used when landing, receiving, and trading pelagic fish (excluding bluefin tuna) in Norway, including Svalbard, during the period 1 January 2027 to 1 January 2028. It requires all first-hand buyers and receiving facilities to use approved automatic scales that correctly register and weigh all fish at landing, prohibits any equipment that could bypass or influence weighing, and mandates registration of each scale with the Directorate of Fisheries. The regulation also sets detailed rules on data storage and electronic transmission of weighing data to the authorities, including logging of system events that may affect measurement results, with data retention for at least five years. Limited exemptions may be granted in special circumstances or in cases of technical failure, and specific identification information must be included on landing and sales notes to ensure traceability and control.
