Acids and Other Hazardous Chemicals (Regulation) Rules, 2080 (2023).

These Rules are made in exercise of section 35 of the Acids and Other Hazardous Chemicals (Regulation) Rules, 2079. The fees and procedure for obtaining and renewing permit under the Act for production, export or import of acids and other hazardous chemicals are laid down. The request for approval for import must be submitted to the Ministry in the prescribed format once permit is obtained. Industries, laboratories and other institutions that are allowed to purchase acids and other hazardous chemicals must obtain prior approval for purchase of quantities above one kilogram. The conditions and standards to be observed for production, export, packaging or repackaging, storage, sale, usage and disposal of acids and other hazardous chemicals are laid down. The powers, functions and duties of the Central Acids and Other Hazardous Chemicals Committee and the district committees, in addition to those mentioned in the Act, are provided.
