Agro Biodiversity Policy, 2007 (First Amendment) 2014.

This document is an amendment and revision of the Agro Biodiversity Policy, 2007 (2063). Clause 1 lays down the context for Agro biodiversity in Nepal and the aim of the Policy viz. to identify, preserve, conserve, develop and sustainable use of agro biodiversity. Clause 2 provides for the definitions. Clause 3 of the original policy containing the vision is amended. Clause 4 stating the objectives of the policy is amended. Clause 5 laying down the policies and strategies is amended. Clause 6 containing the governance mechanism including the National Agricultural Biodiversity Conservation Committee for the implementation, coordination and monitoring is also amended. New clause 7 is inserted which states that necessary Act, Rule and Directives/Procedure shall be framed for the implementation and monitoring of the Policy and necessary institutional arrangement shall be made.
