Abstract
In exercise of the power conferred by Section 33 of the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act, 2029 (1973), the Government of Nepal has framed the following Conservation Area Management Rules, 2053. These Rules, consisting of 42 sections divided into seven Chapters and completed by six Schedules, regulate Conservation Area Management. In particular, they specify Boundaries and Management of the Conservation Area (determined by the Government of Nepal, by publishing a notice in Nepal Gazette pursuant to Section 3 of the Act - Chap. 2); Conservation Area Management Committee (including creation functions, duties and powers of the Committee of the Conservation Area Management Committee - Chap. 3); Management Plan and Implementation of the Conservation Area (establishing protection of the Conservation Area and Operation of the Development Work Plan - Chap. 4); Prohibited Activities Within Conservation Area (specifying Prohibited Activities within Conservation Areas and Licensing for authorized activities - Chap. 5); Financial Provision (including income made by the Committee shall be of the Institution - Chap. 6); and Miscellaneous (Chap. 7).
