Abstract
These Rules implement various provisions of the Electricity Act, 2049 (1992).
The Rules set out procedures and requirements for obtaining licences for the transmission, production or distribution of electricity. The Rules provide for formats of licences, terms and conditions of licences and licence fees.
The Rules also provide for: matters related to electricity structures and to materials and equipment used for the generation, transmission or distribution of electricity; matters related to voltage, frequency and power factors of electricity; safety measures regarding electric devices and electrical works; rights and duties of Electricity Inspectors; etc.
