Jhora Area Land Act, 2028 (Act No. 13 of 1971).

This Act makes certain provisions for sale and distribution of land within Jhora areas of Morang, Sunsari and Jhapa districts of Nepal. Section 3 states that all rights and titles of any lands within Jhora areas shall lapse in case such land is cultivated through tenants and not by the landowners. Section 4 provides for sale and distribution of such lands to peasants who have settled down there and who have been cultivating such land for a period of at least one year. Section 5 provides for registration of land distributed under section 4. Section 6 lays down conditions to be fulfilled by the allottees.
