Abstract
Several amendments are made to the National Parks and Wild Life Conservation Act. The principal amendment is made by introducing the concept of "buffer zone", defined as the area around national parks or reserves prescribed in order to provide the local inhabitants the facility of utilizing forest products on a regular basis. Consequently, Sections 3A, 3B and 3C are added, regarding the power to prescribe buffer zone, the conservation and management of buffer zone and the compensation to be paid by inhabitants. Other amendments concern enforcement measures and penalties.
