Abstract
These Rules implement the Petroleum Act 2040 (1983).
The Rules provide for the selection of contractors to conduct petroleum operations and contain provisions on petroleum agreements. The Rules provide for the configuration, survey and relinquishment of areas subject to petroleum agreement.
The Rules further provide for: safety operations to be adopted in the conduct of petroleum operations; reports and information to be provided by contractors; procedures for inspection and investigation; establishment of a Petroleum Advisory Board; governmental participation; etc.
