Regulation approving the National Irrigation Policy, 2003 (Irrigation Policy 2060).

This Regulation approves the Irrigation Policy. This Policy, consisting of two Sections and two Annexes, establishes the requirements to be satisfied in order to perform irrigation activity within the National territory of Nepal. Development of Irrigation facility will be carried out for the fulfillment of the following objectives: to provide year irrigation facility to the irrigation for suitable lands by effective utilization of water resources of the country; to develop institutional capability of Water Users for sustainable management of existing system; to enhance the knowledge, skills and institutional working capability of technical human resources, water users and non-governmental association / organization relating to development of irrigation sector.
