Water Tax Collection Rules, 1975.

Every person who has a water tap installed by the Department of Water Supply and Sewerage, shall pay a water tax for water supply at rates specified in the Schedule to these Rules. The Department may discontinue water supply if the water users defaults on his payment or tampers with the water tap. A water tap may be transferred to another person, but shall not be shifted within a house or compound where it was installed. A tax remission may be granted by the Department in these case that the water user was unable to make full use of water as a result of disruption These Rules shall not be applicable to areas where water is supplied by the Water Supply and Sewerage Board.
