Abstract
The Act provides for the establishment of an Exclusive Fisheries Zone of Nauru and regulates fishing in that zone in 20 Sections which contain provisions relating, inter alia, to: Establishment of the Zone (sect. 3); prohibition of fishing by unlicenced craft (sect. 4); total allowable catch (sects. 5-6); licences issued to owners of crafts and conditions attached (sects. 7-9); licence fees (sect. 10); offences and penalties (sect. 11-12); fishing for research and sporting purposes (sect. 13); enforcement measures (sec; 14-15); offences and legal proceedings (sects. 16-18); regulations (sects. 19-20).
