Abstract
These Regulations of the Cabinet, made under the Environment Act 2015, provides rule relative to application for and granting of development consent. An application must contain the information specified in Schedule 1. The Department must carry out an initial environmental impact assessment for an activity to which an application relates. The Department or the Minister may make any of the following decisions in relation to an application (taking into account certain specified matters): (a) grant development consent for the activity: (b) grant development consent subject to 1 or more specified conditions: (c) refuse to grant development consent: (d) require the applicant to consult specified persons, or the public generally, before making a decision on the application: (e) require a full environmental impact assessment to be carried out. Specific attention is given to effects of activities on water bodies. The Regulations also specify rules for full environmental impact assessment.
