Abstract
The Act imposes duties on holders of pigs and allows owners of land and police force to take actions against straying pigs. The owner of a pig must ensure that the pig is kept in an enclosure or tethered in such a way that it cannot wander at large. The owner of pig shall also ensure that the pig has sufficient food and water. If the owner of land finds a pig at large on that land and requests the owner of the pig to remove it, the owner of the pig must comply with that request as soon as reasonably practicable but in any event within 24 hours of being requested to do so. If the owner of the pig does not comply the owner of land may capture and destroy pig wandering on land. (18 sections)
