Animal Welfare Amendment Act 2002 (No. 53 of 2002).

Amendments to substantive provisions of the principal Act concern: interpretation, strict liability, defense, power to declare traps or devices to be prohibited or restricted traps or devices, review of code of welfare, power of the Governor-General to extend the date at or by which any particular review under section 78 must be carried out, compliance with enforcement order, power to disqualify person from having custody of animals, consultation by the Minister before the making of Orders in Council.
