Abstract
This Order declares leg-hold traps to be restricted traps and imposes restrictions on their sale and use.
The Order prohibits the use and sale of leg-hold traps unless special approval for their use is obtained from the Minister. All leg-hold traps shall be prohibited within 150 metres of a dwelling house or in any area where there is a probable risk of catching any companion animal.
Entry into force notes
This Order enters into force on 1 January 2008.
