Abstract
The principal Act is amended in section 19 in order to create an exemption from provisions of that Act for manipulation of live animals for the purpose of producing antisera or other biological agents. Section 19A is amended so as to create the possibility of prohibiting manipulation of live animals for research or teaching purposes in relation with producing antisera or other biological agents, unless that work or teaching is carried out in accordance with a code of ethical conduct relating to the welfare and humane treatment of the live animal involved.
