Abstract
The purposes of this Act are to: repeal the Marine Farming Act 1971 and provide for transitional matters relating to the repeal; repeal certain provisions of the Fisheries Act 1983; and to provide for transitional matters relating to the ending of the moratorium under sections 36 to 54 of the Resource Management Act 1991.
Sections 67I to 67Q of the Fisheries Act 1983, dealing with marine farming and coastal permits, are repealed and consequentially also section 314(1)(x) of the Fisheries Act 1996 is repealed.

Entry into force notes
This Act enters into force on 1 January 2005, except for section 33 which shall enter into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council.
