Abstract
This Order makes the national pest management strategy for American foulbrood.
The strategy provides a system of notification of apiaries and inspection of honey bee colonies for the purposes of detecting and eliminating American foulbrood. Honey bee colonies are inspected by authorized persons appointed under the Biosecurity Act 1993. Disease management may also be carried out in accordance with a Disease Elimination Conformity Agreement between a beekeeper and the management agency.

This Order enters into force on 1 October 1998.
