Abstract
These regulations, consisting of 14 sections completed by four Schedules, are made under section 27 of the Fair Trading Act 1986: a) on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and b) on the recommendation of the Minister of Consumer Affairs made in accordance with section 27(3) of that Act. The regulations establish: Consumer information standards for water efficiency; Labelling of water-using equipment when supplied or physically displayed for supply; Labelling of water-using equipment with star rating; Labelling of water-using equipment with star rating of zero stars; Labelling of showers that are not star rated; Information labelling requirements; Additional information requirements for equipment requiring ancillary components to achieve stated star rating or water consumption; Labelling requirements satisfied by compliance with AS/NZS 6400:2016. Schedules specify the following issues: Transitional, savings, and related provisions; Information labelling requirements for water-using equipment; Labels for water-using equipment; and Placement of labels for unpackaged water-using equipment.

These regulations enter into force on 1 October 2017.
Notes
The Consumer Information Standards (Water Efficiency) Regulations 2010 (SR 2010/81) are revoked on the close of 30 September 2019.
