Fisheries (Conversion Factors) Notice 2014 (Notice No: MPI 392).

This Notice of the Director Fisheries Management of the Ministry for Primary Industries, made pursuant to section 188 of the Fisheries Act 1996, specifies in Parts 1 and 2 of Schedule 2 conversion factors in relation to any specified species or classes of fish. These conversion factors are to be used to convert the weight of fish in the defined state to greenweight. In Schedule 1 of this Notice, the references to the landed state codes on the first line of each illustration, are references to the landed state codes for sole or principal landed states as set out in Part 3 of Schedule 3 of the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 2001. The conversion factors and illustrations also are about sharks. For the purpose of the Act, the weight, greenweight, or meatweight of any fish, aquatic life, or seaweed shall be determined, where appropriate, in accordance with sections 187 and 188.
