Abstract
This notice is made under the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998. The notice relates to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana of the tangata whenua who are Ngā Hapū o Taiamai ki Te Marangi on behalf of Tauwhara Marae. The area/rohe moana is in the Bay of Islands and extends from Takou Bay to the Haumi River mouth. Notice is given of the cancellation of the appointment of a Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for the area/rohe moana. The Minister of Fisheries cancelled the appointment at the request of Tauwhara Marae. The powers of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki are set out in the regulations.
