Abstract
This notice is made under the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999. The notice relates to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana of the tangata whenua represented by Wairewa Rūnanga. The area/rohe moana is on Banks Peninsula, from the Hakatere River to Ounu Hau Point, but excluding Te Waihora (Lake Ellesmere) and Lake Forsyth. Notice is given of the reappointment of 3 Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the area/rohe moana. The Minister of Fisheries made the reappointments at the request of Wairewa Rūnanga. The powers of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki are set out in the regulations.

Entry into force notes
The notice enters into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette and will be repealed on 12 December 2022.
