Abstract
This notice is made under the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999. The notice relates to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana of the tangata whenua represented by Te Taumutu Rūnanga. The area/rohe moana is an area from the northern bank of the Hakatere River to Ounu Hau Point at Pōhatu that includes Te Waihora (Lake Ellesmere) and its catchment, but excludes Te Wairewa (Lake Forsyth). Notice is given of the reappointment of 4 Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the area/rohe moana. The Minister for Primary Industries made the reappointments at the request of Te Taumutu Rūnanga. The powers of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki are set out in the regulations.
