Abstract
These rules set out how the Court works, when and where it sits, its management of documents, and how the proceedings in the Court are publicly notified; how proceedings in the Court are dealt with, from making the initial application through to its conclusion; and how appeals are heard by the Māori Appellate Court. The objectives of these rules are to (a) facilitate access to the Court; and (b) secure the just, speedy, and inexpensive dispatch of the business of the Court.
Parts 3 to 7 lays down administrative rules including how to make an application, how it is set down for hearing, how the hearing shall be conducted, and orders and record requirements by the Court. Part 14 concerns title registration and Part 15 clarifies the Court's jurisdiction under other Acts. Part 8 concerns reconsideration of decisions. Parts 9 to 1 consider different types of applications to Court, such as civil applications, injunctions, succession, applications related to land (tatus, alienation, assembled owners, exchange, and representation), to constitute a trust or for an incorporation, and other applications that create or affect title to land (application for partition order, for amalgamation order, for occupation, among others).
