Abstract
The Act provides specific exemptions for veterinarians, allowing them to manufacture, sell, supply, or administer medicines for animals under their care or another veterinarian's care, and to pack or label these medicines for sale or supply. Additionally, individuals may sell or supply medicines directly to veterinarians or, at the veterinarian’s request, to another person for animal treatment. These provisions are subject to the broader regulations and controls of the Act, ensuring that veterinarians can effectively manage animal care while adhering to national medicine regulations. The Minister may, by notice in the Gazette, prohibit any specified prescriber, veterinarian, or delegated prescriber from prescribing certain prescription medicines or specific classes of them.
