Abstract
New Zealand continues to actively support the goal of the Stockholm Convention. Since 2006, it has had in place a comprehensive system of laws and regulations to control the initial 12 POPs. This updated plan reports on New Zealand implementation of the two new listed POPs added to the Stockholm Convention in 2019 – dicofol and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), its salts, and PFOArelated compounds. This update comes after an Addendum to that plan relating to the listing of endosulfan in 2014, and another update in 2018 to report on measures to implement obligations relating to a further 13 POPs listed in the Stockholm Convention.
