Resource Management (National Environmental Standards for Storing Tyres Outdoors) Regulations 2021 (107 of 2021).

The purpose of these regulations is to deal with the effects of storing tyres outdoors that relate to the functions of regional councils under section 30 of the Resource Management Act 1991 , particularly (a) the control of the use of land for the purpose of (i) the maintenance and enhancement of the quality of water in water bodies and coastal water; and (ii) the avoidance or mitigation of natural hazards; and (b) the control of discharges of contaminants into land, air, or water.
These regulations establish standards that apply to storing tyres outdoors on a property; they do not apply on a coastal marine area and if tyres are subject to active use.
