Abstract
This Ministerial Decision is composed of three articles. Article 1 requires that the attached rules of standards for surplus liquid trade effluent be enforced. Article 2 requires that all concerned bodies should implement this Ministerial Decision. The Decision is issued by Saalem bin Naaser, the Minister of Transport and President of the Council for the Protection of the Environment and prevention of Pollution.
The attachment to the law includes some Rules and Special standards. These comprise additions to Royal Decree No. 10 of 1982 Issuing the Law on the Conservation of the Environment and Prevention of Pollution regarding definitions of trade effluent and domestic waste. Rule 1 states that all trade effluent is banned unless there is prior consent from the Council. Rule 2 states that all requests for permission to discharge trade waste must conform to articles 13 and 14 of RD 10/82. The attached table includes a list of measurements and their standards. For example pH should be between 6 and 10; Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD 5 day) must not exceed 1000 mg/l; fat and oil must not exceed 30 mg/l, etc.
