Ministerial Decision No.5 of 2017 on the Ghaf Trees (Prosopis cineraria).

This Resolution consisting of 7 articles aims at giving rules for uprooting and removal of the Ghaf trees. It establishes that the responsibility lies with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. It also gives rules for: (i) burning and disinfesting the trees, distinguishing, in this case, between trees higher or lower than one meter and half; (ii) managing them in case of agricultural and animal holdings. The Resolution prohibits import, trading and propagating: their seeds and planting materials; organic fertilizers and agricultural soil improvements containing Ghaf tree seeds.
